Volunteer with the festival!

The Goa Open Arts Festival is looking for volunteers to join its 2020 festival programme. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to working with artists; who is interested in building community through organising events; or anyone looking to get involved in the arts and make some fantastic new friends in Goa.

Hours: 10 AM - 10 PM [During festival dates of 12-16 Feb, Flexible on other days, depending on volunteers role]  

Training Day: 9 Feb, 2-5 PM

  • Applicants must be 18+. There is no age limit to be a volunteer!

  • Volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the festival venue.

  • Volunteers are responsible for their own accommodation if required.

  • Stipend will be provided on all days by the festival organisers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Volunteers will be working together on a number of different tasks including helping artists with their installations, guiding visitors to the festival, managing the information desk, assisting with the set-up of the music stage and assisting the children’s workshop leaders. If you are interested in a specific duty, please mention this in your application, as well as any specific experience you have in this role. All roles will be assigned at the discretion of the festival team.

 

  • Children’s Workshop Assistant (Working with the workshop leader to deliver theater, linocut and clay making activities for children aged 10-15)

  • Artist Assistant (Helping the exhibition artist to install their work in the days leading up to the festival)

  • Exhibition Guide (Giving visitors to the festival the best experience of viewing the art installations)

  • Music Stage Assistant (Coordinating with the Festival team, musicians and technical team to make sure the music stage operates smoothly)

  • Social Media Assistant (Capturing behind the scenes images, videos and clips of the festival’s activities) 

  • Sustainable Festival Assistant (Working with the team to ensure the festival is eco-friendly as possible, with minimum waste and environmental damage)
